The following reply was made to PR ports/108795; it has been noted by GNATS. From: Alexander Leidinger <netchild@FreeBSD.org> To: Stefan Walter <stefan@FreeBSD.org> Cc: Simon Robbins <simonr@codian.com>, GNATS <FreeBSD-gnats-submit@FreeBSD.org>, Eric De La Cruz Lugo <eric_delacruz@yahoo.com> Subject: Re: ports/108795: ports/icc: Proposed update to icc port for intel compiler 9.1 Date: Sun, 04 Jan 2009 15:44:38 +0100 Quoting Stefan Walter <stefan@freebsd.org> (from Sun, 4 Jan 2009 =20 14:02:14 +0100): > Hi Simon, hi Alexander, > > please see the message quoted below. Any news on the icc update [1]? I don't have the time to have a look at porting it (not much spare =20 time). In case I get some time, my priorities are somewhere else. I =20 should be able to review (but not test) patches. I can also answer =20 questions. Regarding the comment in the PR: I am not aware of a native icc =20 version for FreeBSD. Until icc 8.x I was the main contact regarding =20 icc on the FreeBSD side. My main contact at Intels side was not =20 directly in the compiler group, he was in the embedded systems group =20 back then, but the compiler group was helpful via the official icc bug =20 report channel. If there's some native icc version in the works for =20 FreeBSD, then it is not me who knows about it. In case someone is =20 aware of some ongoing work in this regard, I could provide some =20 background infos which may or may not speed up the work.
