I'm really sorry for wasting your time, but my searching through the Inet for the answer gave no results... The problem situatuion: assume, we have a file that is an ISO image. Then, we burncd it and, later, took ISO image back with dd (if=/dev/acd0c of=n44 bs=2k) To my surprise the original ISO image and back-copied one have different lengths!
