I have an external hard drive I can=E2=80=99t unlock. Four years of my = business is locked up in there! Here are the details: -You were recommended to me by a friend who works on computers. -I have above average computer knowledge & skills, having had a = computer repair business (Mac, Windows, hardware, software). I tell you this hoping = you will know I=E2=80=99m not computer illiterate (though not your caliber!) & can see hope = in helping me. -I have a 4 year old landscaping business & depend on my = computer more than I realized, until now=E2=80=A6 Here is the hardware I=E2=80=99m using: =09 -13=E2=80=9D MacBook Pro (Yosemite) -WD =E2=80=9CMy Passport for Mac=E2=80=9D external hard drive And here=E2=80=99s my dilemma: -My previous external hard drive (Maxtor) failed a couple of = weeks ago. Last time backed up was mid October, but can=E2=80=99t = access it. -Purchased the WD Passport a little over a week ago. -I installed it, & put a password on it when the = installation prompted me to do so, not even thinking I don=E2=80=99t really = need it. Brain freeze=E2=80=A6 -Macbook hard drive failed this last weekend. -Apple Store confirmed this last Monday. -I installed same day & took to Apple to get Yosemite = back on. -Went home, attached the WD Passport=E2=80=A6can=E2=80=99t= remember the password. I had put it on my computer quickly, in a = sub-folder in Mac Mail, but didn=E2=80=99t transfer it to a more = accessible location. I have been nearly dead in the water without access to this = information. WD tells me there is no way to recover & will have to wipe = the drive and start over. Chris, my friend here, thinks that one of = your applications can help. I can=E2=80=99t take a chance of losing = this information, & I=E2=80=99m a small business owner who can=E2=80=99t = afford data recovery services. If you have the time, could you have = someone call me & help me work through this? I=E2=80=99m at my wits = end=E2=80=A6 Regards, Bob Gaither Gaither Enterprises Knoxville TN (865) 766-9564
