You could either SSH to the Postfix machine and edit your files that way, or
disble logging to the console in /etc/syslog.conf.  I chose the latter.

We've installed Postfix on or newly built FreeBSD machine and every
error
from Postfix is being written to the screen. It's very frustrating when
your
editing a file and you get text writing to the screen.
