Actually, 100% of the computers at work that I've switched away from Windoze have gone to FreeBSD...I sit the prospective "switchee" down and explain to them that I'm going to be installing FreeBSD for them, and that, when finished, they tell me what they need to do that they could do before and we find solutions for them... FreeBSD, IMHO, is no worse then Linux for a single user platform, and, since its *my* workstation of choice, its better for the end-user as i'm more apt to care if they are having problems. Linux is great for those end-users that want to install themselves and have as easy a time of it as Windoze, but, IMHO, that is where the "greatness" ends...*shrug* > > The problem is that software compare clearly shifted their interests > towards Linux and almost totally ignore FreeBSD (except for those > which create server software, because that know that FreeBSD make > a perfect server). VMWare is a very goods example (read their FAQ > and you'll see that they are not even going to consider to write a FreeBSD > version) IMHO, though, VMWare is "server software", not workstation...*shrug* So, by your argument, it should be ported to FreeBSD... Frankly, I haven't looked at FreeMWare, but if/when someone makes a port of it (sorry, it won't be me, zero time), then I'll gladly play with it...would love to save having to reboot my machine for those times I want to play Baldur's Gate :) Marc G.
