I am attempting to net boot a FreeBSD boxen (2.2.8 at this stage). I am wondering how the kernel knows where / is to mount it. As far as I can tell, it does not use /etc/fstab at this stage... I am asking because I keep having a kernel panic at the stage where the kernel attempts to mount / for the first time and I am not sure why.
