There you'll probably need to tweak your xorg.conf file.  I've never tried to 
use the special buttons on my mouse so I really don't know what you need to 
do.

Maybe someone on this list will take an interest in those patches and try to 
get them commited.  This is now the second non-Logitech mouse the patch is 
known to fix.
