You can, but you'll see a lot of ARP errors on the FreeBSD box as a result (because at an Ethernet level, devices will be seen through both interfaces). You should actually be able to make this work with one NIC with two IP addresses (adding the second address with the "alias" option of ifconfig), which doesn't have the same problem.
