I had the same problem. I initially bought PC-133 ECC Registered DIMMS, and
the 694D board didn't work at all.

yah, the board is $150 and supports a decent amount of stuff. I haven't
had the box crash on me yet after I got the ram stuff sorted out. Its
running 4.2-BETA right now, doing pretty speedily.
