This would likely fail any BIOS vendor's earliest testing, as it would 
break any VxD driver, or operation of DOS with any memory manager 
loaded.

It may, however, break on your BIOS if you're not careful.  My 
recommendation: be careful.

Also possible that the new BIOS is ACPI-only.
