I'm looking for some pointers on copyright issues like on the BSD
license or on the GPL. Especially I need some explanation written in
"regular" English so people can easily understand the implications. I
have general knowledge about these issues but I cannot explain it
precisely. 

I know this has been discussed to death but I had no luck searching
through the mailing list archives.

It there any FAQ around?
