I don't like make install to mess with my hard :-) work, and it did here. How about installing the Makefile.yp to /var/yp/Makefile.sample? (UUCP does a similar thing with its config files.) By The Way (tm), while we are about it, what are the feelings for-or- against installing rc, rc.serial and rc.local (along with other oft- improved files) to .sample as a reminder that they have been messed with?
