Yes it is. My previous company had hundreds of Thinkpads, and we sent them back to IBM by the truckload to fix this. My new Thinkpad (which isn't very new anymore) appears to have fixed this problem. (This problem happens in *all* OS's run on the machine, and is not FreeBSD specific.)
