Hi,

    I've successfully = installed=20 freeBSD on a partitioned hdd on a computer with win98, win2k advanced = server and=20 freebsd. As i was setting up freeBSD i ran into problems. =
    It seems that = freebsd isn't=20 detecting my network card at all, i live in Vancouver, British Columbia, = Canada=20 and have a Rogers@home cable internet = connection and an SMC EZ Card 10/100 PCI (smc1211 series) for my NIC.=20
    I've asked a few = individuals and=20 they said to try to look for an eth0 or rl0 during bootup = (dmesg). I=20 didn't see eth0 but i did see rl0

    rl0 =3D <ACCTON = MPX 5030/5038=20 10/100 baseTX> at devide 13.0 on pci0
    rl0 =3D = couldn't map=20 port

and then when i took a look at = pci0

    pci0 =3D <unkown = card>=20 (vendor =3D 0x1102, dev 0x0002) at 15.0

i've also looked through different = sites like=20 Freebsd diary and freebsd cheatsheet for solutions to this=20 problem, but i'm convinced freebsd isn't detecting my NIC, this is = so=20 because they all tell me to edit my DHCP settings, and to edit DHCP = settings,=20 you need to know what the NIC's device name is.

An individual advised me to download a = driver for=20 my NIC but let's not forget i can't connect to the internet with = freebsd.=20

Any help would be much = appreciated
Thanks

Rey
