Quick background of the system, FreeBSD 5.2-CURRENT though I guess it counts as 5.2-RELEASE since 5.2-CURRENT was removed and replaced with 5.2.1. Its a custom kernel config that works fine, where things have gone wrong is with ports. I downloaded the latest ports collection and started manually updating, things were going nice and fine until Apache2 wanted rid of expat-1.95.6_1 in favour of expat-1.95.7. The problem is that KDE3.2.3 is trying to use libexpat.so.4 but expat-1.95.7 replaced it with libexpat.so.5, so really I'm at a bit of a loss as what to do. I've tried to find the older expat version and reinstall it but I can't find it in the ports section. The change log doesn't mention much diff so could I create a symbolic link to libexpat.so.5 with the name libexpat.so.4? Thanks in advance, and if I'm just being stupid feel free to have a good laugh. I'm gonna play around some more see if I can convince it to work, any ideas would be very much welcomed. On another note, how well does DragonFlyBSD co-exist with FreeBSD? I was giving a lot of thought to installing it since it spawned from FreeBSD and I like playing with different OSes. Bye. _________________________________________________________________ It's fast, it's easy and it's free. Get MSN Messenger today! http://www.msn.co.uk/messenger
