The problem is in some ways similar to what is being discussed in this thread: http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/htdig/freebsd-x11/2009-May/008342.html However my configuration is different: fresh install of FreeBSD 7.2/amd64 on a brand new Fujitsu Lifebook A6210, Xorg built from today's ports tree (with all the latest updates from rnoland@). Using `Driver "radeon"' results in a hard hang, while with `Driver "radeonhd"' (1.2.5 or git), there's nothing but garbage on the screen, however I can still switch back to VT0 and hit Ctrl-C. Robert, could you please have a look at the following logs? pciconf -lvb: vgapci0@pci0:1:0:0: class=0x030000 card=0x14b010cf chip=0x95c41002 rev=0x00 hdr=0x00 vendor = 'ATI Technologies Inc' class = display subclass = VGA bar [10] = type Prefetchable Memory, range 32, base 0xf0000000, size 134217728, enabled bar [14] = type I/O Port, range 32, base 0x2000, size 256, enabled bar [18] = type Memory, range 32, base 0xfa000000, size 65536, enabled xorg.conf (autogenerated by `X -configure', with a few minor tweaks, so nothing special there): http://pastebin.com/m7114722 Xorg.0.log http://pastebin.com/m58e83310 messages generated by hw.dri.0.debug=1 http://pastebin.com/m24308c77 memcontrol list http://pastebin.com/m616d6f9f Thanks in advance, Pavel Gorshkov
