I don't know if this is a known problem (if not, mail me and I'll provide more info). I can't get FTP/other to work at all. Something seems to corrupt the URL that I type before it gets to the FTP stage. I get a popup dialog complaining about some garbage URL (like '', or '^A', or ' ^Gwish sd'). The machine and install seem to be otherwise OK and I managed to do an custom install via NFS. (Though it complained with: Could't extract all of the dists. Residue: 80 it seems to have worked ok.) -- Alan P.S. Am I correct in thinking that the default distribution is now using crypt-style passwords instead of MD5?
