For the past few weeks I have been trying to install gtk1.2.1 so that I can install the Gimp. every time I try to do a make I get the following error: ------Lotta Stuff Deleted----- checking for gettext... no checking for gettext in -lintl... (cached) yes checking for extra flags to get ANSI library prototypes... none needed checking for extra flags for POSIX compliance... configure: warning: Could not determine POSIX flag. (-posix didn't work.) checking for glib-config... /usr/local/bin/glib12-config checking for GLIB - version >= 1.2.1... no *** Could not run GLIB test program, checking why... *** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log for the *** exact error that occured. This usually means GLIB was incorrectly installed *** or that you have moved GLIB since it was installed. In the latter case, you *** may want to edit the glib-config script: /usr/local/bin/glib12-config configure: error: *** GLIB 1.2.1 or better is required. The latest version of GLIB *** is always available from ftp://ftp.gtk.org/. *** Error code 1 Stop. *** Error code 1 Stop. *** Error code 1 Stop. *** Error code 1 Stop. I have already installed gettext0.10.35 and glib 1.2.1 from the ports collection. I don't understand why gtk thinks that I'm using an older viersion. Any help will be appreciated. -- | David L.
