Thanks for the offer. If you are familiar with kde and have some suggestions for what you think would be useful for a newbie I'd be glad to hear them. I'm looking forward to putting together a port, I haven't done it before but it should be fairly straightforward, I'm assuming. I'll probably try kde first, I have a system that I had a use for running X on for the first time in a year or so, and picked kde to try.
