I don't necessarily think we can make this conclusion. Heimdal is still
actively developed, with a new release soon to come with a lot of fixes. I
still personally use it in all my projects, and if I understand correctly, =
some
very crucial ports like net/samba* only officially support Heimdal (with
experimental support for MIT).

In fact, the purpose of my patch is to allow users to choose heimdal-devel =
and
mit-devel as GSSAPI providers.
