Hi, for those die-hard Matrox users out there (my card is a G550): To use mga_hal with the new X server, unpack matrox_driver-x86_32-4.4.0.tar.gz (or matrox_driver-x86_64-4.4.0.tar.gz, in case of amd64) (do "make extract" in x11-servers/mga_hal) and copy matrox_driver-x86_32-4.4.0/xserver/7.0.0/mga_{hal_,}drv.so to /usr/local/lib/xorg/modules/drivers (don't forget to back up mga_drv.so). >From now on, start your X server with "-ignoreABI", e.g. xdm users edit /usr/local/lib/X11/xdm/Xservers nd add the mentioned option to the X server command line. Without mga_hal, I do not get any signal to my monitor via DVI, but now fvwm is up and running. Thanks to the "Unofficial Matrox Support Forum" hosted at http://matrox.tuxx-home.at/. If this is not considered a "trivial fix", I will write a PR tomorrow. Regards, Christoph -- Spare Space
