I recently installed a pioneer changer on my system. I used /dev/MAKEDEV to create 6 new cdrom nodes. All the CDs appear to mount fine, but my system becomes extremely unstable and dies very shortly after they've been mounted. Sometime I get a Supervisor error, others the system just dies and then resets. Is there something special I need to do for a CD changer? Didn't see anything in the FAQs.
