I'd like to use the USB connection with FreeBSD. I've done a lookup on the matter, but the information is sparse, dated, and negative, so I'm hoping that a solution exist now. How do I set up FreeBSD to use a USB connection connected to a cable modem? If this can't be done, I'd be interested in writing the appropriate driver or code. If the PPPoE code is modular, it seems like a PPPoUSB wouldn't be too hard (famous last words). Has anyone tried this? This would be a great project to sink my teeth into.
