The following reply was made to PR ports/144502; it has been noted by GNATS. From: Mark Linimon <linimon@lonesome.com> To: olli hauer <ohauer@gmx.de> Cc: bug-followup@FreeBSD.org Subject: Re: ports/144502: mail/spamd port insists on fdescfs mount Date: Sat, 27 Mar 2010 16:49:22 -0500 On Sat, Mar 27, 2010 at 09:30:09PM +0000, olli hauer wrote: > I don't know why the issue is assigned to freebsd-ports-bugs@FreeBSD.org > instead to me (maintainer) Initially the Subject line was: "spamd port insists on fdescfs mount" which is not enough information to get the attention of the auto-nagger. In general, when a FreeBSD developer comes along and uses GNATS to manually fix the synopsis to be the correct: "mail/spamd port insists on fdescfs mount" they're then supposed to forward the corrected message to the special email address "gnats-aa@FreeBSD.org". It looks like this didn't happen in this case. (I'm not sure if it was me, or someone else.) > even half of the conversation is missing on the web-frontend The only way to get followups into GNATS is to Cc: "bug-followup@FreeBSD.org" (I think there is another equivalent, perhaps gnats@FreeBSD.org). It is not necessary to Cc: any of the mailing lists; that will happen automagically. If GNATS doesn't see the email, GNATS doesn't do anything with it :-) (Also, followup email must be prefixed with "Re: ports/12345: " (or whatever number) for it to be handled correctly. AFAICT the rest after that is irrelevant, but that part must be literally correct or it will create a new PR which will then have to be fixed by hand.) mcl
