BSD has its strengths (the license, the centralized development model) and its weaknesses (the license, the centralized development model). Linux also has strengths (the license, the de-centralized development model) and weaknesses (the license, the de-centralized development model). Beyond that, they're pretty much the same (i.e., free, relatively frill-free and zippy implementations of Unix).
