I have ben told that softhsm2 doesn't has LibreSSL yet. I also noticed that it is broken OpenSSL 1.1.0 because GOST support is now in a separate engine which is not installed by openssl. I will ask the upstream for the plans in regarding LibreSSL and OpenSSL >=3D 1.1.0 support. I prefer to wait on official support above hacking it in by ourselves.
