from the port /usr/ports/textproc/py-expat

I get the error;

make: cannot open Makefile.

or, to it from scratch;

su-2.03# make install
===>  Extracting for py21-expat-2.1.3
>> Checksum OK for python/Python-2.1.3.tgz.
===>   py21-expat-2.1.3 depends on file: /usr/local/bin/python2.1 - found
===>   py21-expat-2.1.3 depends on shared library: expat.2 - found
===>  Patching for py21-expat-2.1.3
===>  Configuring for py21-expat-2.1.3
===>  Building for py21-expat-2.1.3
make: cannot open Makefile.
*** Error code 2

Stop in /usr/ports/textproc/py-expat.

Any idea what I can do here? The root Makefile does exist, but the error
I believe is referring to a Makefile deeper in the port.
