Message-ID: <1472068479-3553743@gomail.sjcpl.lib.in.us> Sender: questions-owner@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk I'm trying to set up a ppp server on a 2.0.5 machine. My options file looks like this: crtscts # Hardware flow control netmask 255.255.255.0 # netmask ( not required ) 192.217.111.1:192.217.111.159 # ip's of local and remote hosts # local ip must be different from one # you assigned to the ethernet ( or other ) # interface on your machine. # remote IP is ip address that will be # assigned to the remote machine domain sjcpl.lib.in.us # your domain passive # wait for LCP /dev/ttyd0 # modem line What do I put in the ip numbers slot? I have been using artibrary numbers (that aren't currently in use by any machines on this subnet), but If i put the number of my gateway, i can telnet into the server from the client, but nowhere else. I am using MacPPP on the client end, and I'm not sure what numbers to put there either, but it always connects, establishes, and appears to work, but no name server and no telnet except for the server. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! -- Harold Rowe h.rowe@gomail.sjcpl.lib.in.us Microcomputer Network Assistant http://sjcpl.lib.in.us St. Joseph County Public Library (219)282-4646
