Good point Edwin, I was just wondering is there was a "traditional" fix for this sort of thing. I am the administrator and would never do a shutdown -p or halt from a remote login, but then again, there is always possibility of doing a shutdown -p instead of a shutdown -r. :-) - Scott > -----Original Message----- > From: Edwin Groothuis [mailto:edwin@mavetju.org] > Sent: October 10, 2001 8:02 PM > To: Scott Gerhardt > Cc: FreeBSD > Subject: Re: Deny shutdown > > > On Wed, Oct 10, 2001 at 05:05:09PM -0600, Scott Gerhardt wrote: > > I would like to configure FreeBSD to disallow the following > shutdown related > > commands from all but the local console: > > Isn't this more an organisation problem than a operational problem? > I mean, only the root user and the operator group can do these > things.
