The installation process, and a lot of other useful things are described in the FreeBSD hanbook . When you have installed your FreeBSD system, you will find a wealth of information at the FreeBSD home page , especially under the links "Documentation" and "Mailing lists". Oh, and you can always post questions to freebsd-questions@freebsd.org (note that reading the list descriptions over at freebsd.org will always help you where to post a mail of yours, without sounding utterly off-topic).
