Agreed. Also, we could hack the compat libraries shipped with 5.x for Alpha and i386 to dink with the syscall arguments where necessary to allow legacy applications to run. Well, dynamically linked ones. :( I suppose we could use an alternate syscall table like we do for linux, svr4, etc. for compat on i386 and alpha for old binaries.
