The first hunk of revision 1.67 changes to src/sys/net/route.c is responsible for this. This code is now shared between BSD/OS, NetBSD, OpenBSD, and FreeBSD (in chronological order), so if there is the problem with GateD, it is not specific to FreeBSD.
