can anybody tell me what does this message mean?

Aug  9 05:04:45 moo /kernel: sio1: 28 more interrupt-level buffer overflows (total 28)

after this message appeared, i soon lost the ppp connection;  after
trying to reconnect 3-4 times, i killed the ppp & started again...it
took one or two tries more to re-connect.

sio1 is linksys pcmlm56 pcmcia card (as modem) being supported  by 
freebsd 4-stable (20010731).
