I'm trying to setup dialin on a FreeBSD 2.2.5 machine. I've read the handbook etry on this a bunch of times, and done everything it's told me to do for a matching speed config. I can connect to the modem fine, but I only get garbage. I have a Sierra Data/Fax modem (33.6), and I'm using ttyd2 "/usr/libexec/getty 57600-baud" dialup on as my ttys line. My modem is set to disable echo, disable status messages, drop DTR on exit, RTS/CTS, no XON/XOFF, pickup in one ring, disable escape sequence (S2=128), and assert DCD on connect. Is there something I'm missing (i'm leaning toward a speed conflict)? Any help would be most appreciated. Below is the Hayes-compatible string I use to initialize my modem (this is verified via tip): AT&F \N \Q3 Q1 E &S1 &D1 &C1 S2=128 S0=1 V X &W &Y Thanks.
