Do you have alot of cards in the machine? I found that I had some kind of interupt error, that disappeared when I swapped cards. Your BIOS PnP OS option should definitively be OFF. I would trying taking out as many cards as possible, and trying -just- your sound card. You might try also posting the -exact- entries you have in your kernel configuration.
