Allowing for real world, if your 2 Win2k boxes are running 100BaseT to the hub, a 100Megabyte transfer between them should take roughly about 15 seconds. If the network is a 10BaseT network then figure 150 seconds, or a bit less than 2 minutes. If your getting 25 minutes then something is stuffed. If you unplug the FreeBSD system while both W2K systems are transferring data, does the transfer time go up or does it stay the same? If it stays the same then it's definitely a Windows problem and you shouldn't be asking about it here. There are many Windows forums.
