One thing is history IMHO. Bill Gates etc didnt invent the computer, the computer was allready there. OS costing some 100 000 dollars, the hardware, dont know, probably much more. Then came the PC. Replacing in many cases the old way of using computers, cheaper hardware etc. Market forces.. But then came the net and with it a renaissance of the old dinosaurs, an end of the concept of the "personal computer", as a philosophy.
