( SMP ) It could be your hardware, you need to debug your kernel. We have been using dual CPU in all our servers since FreeBSD 3.x, works just fine under any load. Right now we're running 4.9-R Our servers run many WWW services and serve millions of requests a day. Note, there is a lot of flaky hardware out there.
