Hiya people, I used a Philips Jack Rabbit USB CD-R/RW under Winders2k, I pooped this bad boy onto my 4.8 install and here are some lines from my dmesg - usb0: <Intel 82801AA (ICH) USB controller> on uhci0 usb0: USB revision 1.0 uhub0: Intel UHCI root hub, class 9/0, rev 1.00/1.00, addr 1 uhub0: 2 ports with 2 removable, self powered umass0: PHILIPS USB Storage Device , rev 2.00/11.06, addr 2 pci0: <unknown card> (vendor=0x8086, dev=0x2413) at 31.3 irq 10 orm0: <Option ROMs> at iomem 0xc0000-0xc7fff,0xc8000-0xc8fff on isa0 The question is simply, can I use this? If so, what would the suggested device be? After looking at the /dev/MAKEDEV file, here's what I might guess: # USB devices: # usb* USB bus control device # ucom* USB serial devices # ugen* generic USB device # uhid* Human Interface Device (HID) # ulpt* printer # umodem* modems # ums* mouse # urio* Diamond Rio 500 # uscanner* USB scanners Perhaps a MAKEDEV usgen0 might work? -- Best regards, Chris ______________________________________________________________________ PGP Fingerprint = D976 2575 D0B4 E4B0 45CC AA09 0F93 FF80 C01B C363 PGP Mail encouraged / preferred - keys available on common key servers ______________________________________________________________________ 01010010011000010110001101100101011100100101100000000000
