Well, giving the  fact that Tcl/Tk apps  are becoming more and more common,
it would be bad not to have shared libs...

Having libtcl  and  libtk static  would  make the executable  to  more than
400k... Something like Tk-Perl would also take a big hit (it is already too
slow).
