++ 30/12/01 18:41 +0100 - Nils Holland: | Hi folks, | | short question: I have updated the xmradio port (/usr/ports/audio/xmradio) | from version 1.1 to version 1.2. Now I wonder how I can get the update into | the CVS repository. | | Generally, I see two ways, but I don't know which is the right one: | | 1) I could submit the changes I have made to the port's maintainer and | kindly ask him to submit them. | | 2) I could send diffs of what needs to by changed via send-pr directly to | freebsd-ports. | | So, which of these two possibilities should I take? I think it's best to use send-pr(1), and make sure you CC: the maintainer. Then maybe follow up with the maintainer in a private email asking him to look over the update in the PR, and send a follow-up to the PR giving his/her approval. This way, if the maintainer doesn't respond in a few weeks, the update can be committed due to a maintainer timeout. -pete -- Pete Fritchman [petef@(databits.net|freebsd.org|csh.rit.edu)] finger petef@databits.net for PGP key To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-ports" in the body of the message
