I have 2 questions about 4.0-RELEASE I did not compile my kernel with the splash device because I did not want a graphical screensaver or splash screen, I just want an ASCII screensaver. When the console was initialized during boot, the kernel reported the error: link_elf: symbol splash_register undefined I have selected the daemon screensaver. Is the splash device now required for ASCII screensavers? Is the new md0 (Malloc Disk) usefull to the average user for anything? This doesn't mean that Malloc uses a filesystem, does it?
