Ivan, SoundBlaster compatible does not mean that it requires the SoundBlaster dri= vers. Here is how I figure out the audio system with FreeBSD. I am certain the others will be able to correct me. I just reinstalled my computer, queen-supreme, last night. Here is what I d= o: queen-supreme# kldload snd_driver queen-supreme# cat /dev/sndstat FreeBSD Audio Driver (newpcm) Installed devices: pcm0: <VIA VT8235> at io 0xe000 irq 22 kld snd_via8233 (5p/1r/0v channels duplex default) You see the driver name after "kld".
