I was wrong about /zroot/ROOT. That comes from taking the standard guided zfs install. I was not wrong however about the output of zfs list. I will see if I can duplicate the error on the reinstalled system. Interestingly doing a zfs install produced a system with /etc/rc.conf from the crashed system. I did this twice so I'm pretty sure of this. I got rid of the old data by using a ufs install followed by zfs getting new and empty system again. --621616949-1265690110-1671812034=:83418--
