https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=204512 Bug ID: 204512 Summary: [NEW PORT] devel/bazel: Correct, reproducible, and fast builds for everyone (not yet ready) Product: Ports & Packages Version: Latest Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: Individual Port(s) Assignee: freebsd-ports-bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: yuri@rawbw.com Created attachment 163079 --> https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=163079&action=edit shar archive This is Google's newly released build system (brother of configure, make, cmake, ant, etc). This port builds and works, however it depends on yet unreleased devel/protobuf version v3.0.0-alpha-3 (last released version is 2.6.1). I requested bazel developers to either include non-standard version into their build, or switch to the last released version. Once they do this, I will update this bug report and label it "ready". It doesn't look like bazel is a great build system. It is badly bloated, depends on Java, and suffers from some shortcomings. But I already spotted several projects that depend on bazel for their build. So it is important to have it in FreeBSD to unblock such ports. So this is pending bug for now. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
