Maybe it wasn't necessary to destroy so many ports. 1) A PR was sent regarding this in September 2001. There was plenty of advance notice for anyone who was paying attention. 2) If the people who wrote their apps or libraries on Qt1 still haven't ported to a newer version, it's obvious it'll never get done. You can't really "patch" them trivially. QT1 to QT2 or QT3 is not like GTK 1.0 to 1.1 or 1.2... You can re-add the port if there is a version based on a newer version of Qt or one not using Qt 1.
