Hi.. and thanks for the reminder.. :)
I was using the card successfully for Raspian with no complaints, so made
the (obviously bad) assumption that the card was Ok..  however, it did fail
for FreeBSD..

At your prompt, I grabbed the original SanDisk SD card that came with the
RasPI and overwrote it.. and ubldr is happy and the kernel does boot as
advertised....

Just a reminder as to how finicky these cards can be, and that just because
it works for one OS, is no guarantee of a good card :)
