In the jump from 2.2.2 to 2.2.5, a new group was added to /etc/group. 'make world' will try and install some binaries ('ppp' and friends I think), and change their ownership to match this new group. Of course, at this point in the install you'll still be using your old /etc/group, without the new group in it. So the install will fail. The trick is to put the added group into your existing /etc/group before you begin 'make world'.
