That statement doesn't make sense. Portupgrade upgrades pors, not the system. So you can't upgrade from 4.2 to 4.3 with portupgrade. If you actually upgraded the system, how did you do it? Did you then use portupgrade to upgrade all the ports you had installed? If not, that may be part of the problem.
