I use a USR 56K (now it's a V90) and I have unlimited Internet access (no per hour charges), so I download everything including X11, in something like 12-16 hours (I go to sleep, so I don't know exactly). But you could download a minimal install and get FreeBSD running, and then download more, in pieces. If your Internet access is one of the 30hrs/month included and anything past that is some price per minute or hour, then it would be well worth buying the CDROMS. You can also get just the 1st CD from cheapbytes really, really cheap, and then download other stuff, like ports, as need arises. Hope This Helps...
